The City of Brampton is launching an international design competition for the redevelopment of Ken Whillans Square and Garden Square in the heart of the Downtown area.

The City is currently in the process of selecting an architectural firm to lead the design and contract administration services for the redevelopment of the two squares through a design competition. The main goal is to transform the spaces into world-class, civic hubs that reflect the city’s vibrant spirit.
Scheduled to begin construction in Q3 2025, the redevelopment of Ken Whillans Square and Garden Square presents an incredible opportunity to shape the heart of downtown.
To ensure these spaces truly serve the needs and desires of our residents, we are seeking the public’s input.
The community’s insights will guide us in establishing key priorities, vision, objectives and requirements for the redevelopment. Together, we can co-create spaces that enrich our community and enhance our quality of life.
