It was disheartening to me that while I was healthy, safe and able-bodied at home, there were many citizens in Brampton that needed various types of assistance. That was when I came across the many Support Task Forces that the City of Brampton has implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Social Task Force spoke to me and I knew that I could use my privilege of health and well-being to aid individuals and families. I was told that we as the volunteers would be getting more out of this situation — dropping food and other necessities to the houses of Brampton citizens — than the patrons themselves; I could not agree more with this statement. We are facing trying times right now and it is more important than ever that we band together as a community. - Merin Kuriakose
