Seniors Support Task Force creates care bags for Brampton’s seniors during Seniors Month
Who doesn’t love a good surprise! To recognize Seniors Month (June), the Seniors Support Task Force distributed care bags to let our seniors know that we are thinking of them and wish them good health and safety.
The care bags include a pair of reusable cloth masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, candies and other sweet treats, a tile art paint kit and other giveaways such as pens. The bags also include fire prevention safety information as people spend more time indoors during the pandemic.
Councillor Pat Fortini and Councillor Gurpreet Dhillon, Co-Leads of the Seniors Support Task Force, along with staff and volunteers began the distribution this week by dropping them off at Knightsbridge Seniors Centre. A total of 1,200 bags will be distributed across the city to seniors homes, seniors groups, as well as to all the seniors who had requested for grocery shopping support. As there are limited care bags, anyone requesting one can call 311 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The City wishes its seniors a very happy Seniors Month!
