More than 5,800 households took part in our 2026 Budget Telephone Town Hall, sharing questions, feedback and priorities to help inform the City’s budget deliberations.

Throughout the evening, residents shared their views through live polling, offering input on affordability, service levels and key areas of investment.

Results showed:

  • 90% of participants supported expanding by-law services and fire prevention officers to improve safety and hold property owners accountable
  • Most people (39%) supported keeping current service levels, even if it means a small tax increase
  • 77% supported the ongoing 1% City levy required for Brampton’s local share to build our second hospital
  • 65% supported the City’s ongoing expansion of active transportation
  • 41% supported paying an average increase of $92 per year in property taxes per household for driveway windrow clearing
