What happens when a City of Brampton Employee tests positive?

As soon as the City is made aware that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the employee goes into self-isolation as recommended by Public Health authorities. The City’s priority is providing support to this individual and their family, and continuing to help protect the health and safety of our employees, customers and community.

Public Health reaches out to individuals who have been in close contact with the employee.

When deemed necessary, the City issues an update internally and updates the webpage with the dates and locations where the employee worked last.

People who are feeling well, with no symptoms, should continue to go about their daily routines and not call Public Health. People who develop symptoms are asked to call Public Health. If you require emergency medical assistance, please call 911.

We all need to do our part to keep our community safe. Please remember:

  • Non-medical masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces and should cover your nose and mouth without gapping at all times.
  • Maintain physical distancing, even while wearing a mask.
  • Carry your own personal disinfectant, such as hand sanitizer or wipes, and wash you’re your hands often.
  • If you’re sick, please stay home, get tested at the nearest COVID-19 assessment site and follow public health instructions.
