City Lands Public Information Sessions
Staff hosted two sessions for interested parties to learn more about this project and receive updates on the opportunity to transform these City-owned lands into a vibrant urban realm and walkable neighbourhood that includes a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose cricket facility. Thank you to all who participated.
Session 1 - Virtual (WebEx )
August 16, 2023

Session 2 - In-person
August 17, 2023

A multi-purpose cricket facility is coming to Brampton. Located east of Kennedy Road South, west of Highway 410 and to the north of the 407 ETR, this 45.3-hectare (112 acre) site owned by the City of Brampton was identified in the 2040 Vision with potential to advance the area as a regional destination.

  • Distance from Brampton City Hall: 6.5 km, 12 min drive
  • Distance from Toronto Pearson Airport: 12km, 15 min drive
  • Distance from Brampton Civic Hospital: 12.5 km, 20 min drive
  • Distance from Toronto City Hall: 36 km, 33 min drive

The Opportunity

A 2019 technical analysis identified the strategic opportunity to transform this large, developable precinct (previously referred to as the “CAA Lands”) from a sports complex into a new urban core with major transit-oriented opportunities for high-density residential, business, leisure, and tourism.

Currently, the area is the location of the CAA sports and entertainment facility (formerly the Powerade Centre.). Redevelopment of the lands aligns with the City’s vision of advancing projects to create ‘complete communities’.

The City is launching an Expression of Interest (EOI) for interested parties to submit comprehensive plans to develop the lands into a vibrant urban realm and walkable neighbourhood that includes a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose cricket facility.

Request for Expression of Interest

The City of Brampton has launched the Request for Expression of Interest for the transformative City Lands project. Prospective proponents can submit their inquiries through the dedicated project email: rfeoi@brampton.ca
