May 19 & 22 - Cautious opening of select outdoor sports amenities
Reopening and Recovery Timeline has finished this stageAt the advice of Province of Ontario, City opened 21 tennis and 7 pickeball courts & Peel Village Golf Course. Imposed strict rules for social distancing and hygiene measures. Early hours introduced for exclusive and safer access by seniors.
Province allows retail businesses with direct access from street to open.

May 20 - Advice from Peel Public Health
Reopening and Recovery Timeline has finished this stageRegion’s Medical Officer of Health advised that any future openings be delayed at least until May 25 (date to be reassessed based on epidemiology data).

July 21: Festivals and events cancellation extended until September 7 inclusive
Reopening and Recovery Timeline has finished this stageAll City festivals, events, performances and community event permits for events at City facilities and performing arts centres, including The Rose, are cancelled until Labour Day on September 7, 2020, inclusive, in response to COVID-19. This extended cancellation is with guidance from the Brampton Emergency Management Office, Peel Public Health, and in alignment with neighbouring municipalities. Click here for details.

July 21: Changes to Brampton Transit service effective July 27, and new online application process for senior ID cards

September 8 - Select Recreation Centres Open
Reopening and Recovery Timeline has finished this stageSelect Recreation Centres reopen for pre-booked visits for:
- The fitness cardio/weight area for independent use;
- Select swims (aquafit, recreation and lane swims);
- Select skates (beginner, parent and child, shoot around skates);
- Select general interest programs (independent sports, dance, arts programs).
