About the Walking Audit
The City of Brampton is looking to improve signage and wayfinding along the Esker Lake Trail between Bovaird Drive and Williams Parkway. Join us on October 22 for a public "walking audit", where staff from Peel Public Health will guide us on a walk between the Lakelands Village and the N-Section neighbourhoods to solicit feedback on how people navigate the trail.
Starting at the Lakelands Village Park Gazebo (74 Southlake Boulevard), attendees will walk 2km along the Esker Lake Trail to North Park Secondary School (10 North Park Drive) and provide comments in an open house. Refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike or use transit to get to the starting point, but folks who drive are encouraged to park at North Park Secondary School and walk over to meet at Lakelands Village Park.

The City of Brampton is exploring design options to enhance wayfinding for Esker Lake Trail users. The City is approaching this project in partnership with the Region of Peel. With existing policies, the city is working on a wayfinding project for Esker Lake Trail, on the portions from Bovaird Drive to Williams Parkway.
As part of the planning process, residents are invited to complete this online survey or attend our Walking Audit meeting on October 22, at 5:00pm (rain date: October 24, at 5:00pm) or a self-directed audit before November 10 to share their feedback. This project supports the City’s ongoing commitment to active transportation and aims to:
Add wayfinding signs along the trail system to improve access to other trails and major destinations
Identify low-stress cycling connective routes and safe routes to school
Work with local partners to identify and enhance opportunities for local wayfinding
Gather community input before finalizing wayfinding design decisions
Determine ways to improve walking via engineering and safety measures
